Seminar Abstract:The seminar is dedicated to present and analyse the evolution of a medical device system from the generation of the seed ideas correlated with the needs of Parkinson’s patients, all the way to the development of an efficient prototype and the final road of commercialization. We will review the different stages, more than 13 years of research and development, with their challenges, barriers, business plans, success and fails.
Andreu’s Bio: Andreu is Full Professor in the Department of Automatic Control at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Director of the Research Centre for Dependency Care and Autonomous Living. His research interests include Assistive Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Social Robotics, Wearable and Intelligent sensors.
