R&D management Conference 2021
The R&D Management Conference 2021 (RADMA) included a special track co-organised by the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (TIM), via its Center for Frugal Innovation, and in partnership wiht OpenInnoTrain, on the theme of “Frugal Innovation and Digitalization: Crossing Boundaries and Creating Impact”. RADMA took place in an online format in 2021 after its postponement in the previous year due to COVID19 related disruptions.
The special track was conceptualized as a multidisciplinary track that looked for contributions from a variety of sources and welcomed papers with both conceptual and empirical focus. The aim was to elevate and evolve academic and practitioner discourses on the phenomenon of frugal innovation. Papers from researchers were presented in management sciences, economics, and engineering disciplines with the purpose of generating new insights by trans-disciplinary integration of relevant themes. There were several contributions from R&D-intensive disciplines such as healthcare, nanotechnology, supply chain, and food production that lead in digitization for driving affordability and sustainability outcomes.
