Mahoor's background is in electrical engineering, and research interests include electricity markets, demand response, electric vehicles, integrated operation of multi-energy systems & planning #renewable energy systems for cost-effective and resilient transition to low-carbon energy systems, power system, local energy & flexibility markets, battery storage systems & multi-carrier energy systems.

- If you could provide one piece of advice to anyone thinking about doing a secondment, what would it be?
I highly recommend the secondment opportunity for university researchers to be familiar with the needs and ongoing projects of industry partners.
- What is something new that has been embedded into your approach to your research as a result of your secondment, how has the secondment impacted your research?
Mainly, it gave me a wider point of view for thinking about the problems that lead to considering different disciplines and sectors instead of just thinking of technical aspects.
- Can you give us an example of a tangible knowledge transfer / exchange that took place during your secondment?
It enhanced my knowledge about shaping a network of industries and universities for conducting research work or creating a consortium in order to prepare a proposal
- What was the most valuable aspect of your secondment?
Being familiar with a different working culture in other countries.
